Idid not fling my graduation cap in the air to announce my arrival into the professional life from the batch of 2020. I was instead flung into this silence of uncertainty.
I walked in here with a bag carrying empty notebooks, lot of dreams and aspirations and a new cycle. I walk out today. The notebook is now a repository and the cycle well-oiled and more reliable. The dreams and aspirations are refined, not altered altogether. I do not see a need to change my destinations, but I am prepared to undergo a different journey.
Not that I had imagined a clear way to my goals, but I had surely anticipated a glittering entry on a red carpet. But I walk in with more alacrity than I would have in the glitz.
I have arrived, dressed for the moment: all keen to get my feet and hands dirty on the road to greatness going out of the hallowed portals of my institution.
As I stand there, I invoke the collective wisdom of my acquired knowledge, carefully honed skills and well crafted character. I realize that this is not a race to be won but a journey to endure. The success here isn’t about how fast I reach the end of tunnel, but how many eventually reach the end of the tunnel.
I stand at the cusp of the B.C ( Before Corona) world and take this responsibility to herald a new A.D. I look back to cherish the times I lived in and I accept the times ahead of me. I will leave no stone unturned on my way and rather leave marks on these stones to pave the way for the ones who follow.
The batches till now were defined and recalled by its illustrious students, I am the one who will be defined and recalled by my batch.
I am from the batch of 2020.
